Mail requests go to the DOC Records Access Officer, Legal Division, 75-20 Astoria Blvd., Suite 305, East Elmhurst, NY 11370.

Sealed records, third-party requests, and medical records have separate requirements. DOC routes medical-record questions to Correctional Health Services Medical Records at 49-09 19th Avenue, Astoria, NY 11105, phone 646-614-0100, fax 347-774-8153.

311, VINE, and Release Notification

NYC311 provides city help for incarcerated person location and information questions. New York City VINE provides custody status and automated release notifications for people in NYC DOC custody through the 24-hour hotline at 888-846-3469.

Court and Case Channels

WebCrims is the public New York Courts channel for pending criminal court appearance information. It can be useful when a DOC lookup shows a court date or when a person is no longer listed in recent DOC custody. New York County Criminal Court and New York County Supreme Court Criminal Term handle Manhattan criminal matters, while the Manhattan District Attorney prosecutes many New York County cases.
